Day of the Seafarer 2021
This year to celebrate the Day of the Seafarer we have put together a video packed with interviews from our crews from some of the vessels under our management showing you a glimpse of their lives at sea.
Last year (2020), crews worldwide faced one of the toughest times at sea since the Second World War (1939–1945). They carried the world on their backs as the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the world into lockdown and relied on these men and women to keep the trade routes open and bring in vital supplies.
Currently, there are over 1.7 million seafarers serving on the oceans of the world. Over 400,000 of these unsung heroes were left unable to return home to see their families, friends and loved ones for some well-deserved rest. This is because governments not considering them to be an essential part of the workforce.
In this presentation that we have prepared we welcome you into their lives, to learn about their journey, their passions and how life can be at sea. We can’t thank our crews enough for all they have done, for their professionalism and dedication over the past year. Nor can we thank all the seafarers around the world appropriately for all they have done and continue to do. We at CTM wish all the seafarers around the world at home and sea a very Happy Day of the Seafarer 2021.
