In our second podcast we invited three members of our commercial team to a virtual roundtable to get their views on the current state of the market. We were pleased to welcome to the podcast: Alessandro Canzian our Capesize Director, Andrea Novellini Supramax Commercial Trader and Graziano Verani Masin Supramax and Panamax Commercial Trader. This podcast was moderated by our Head of Research Lora Iakovidi.

Capesize Market: 01:20–11:27

The Capesize market just had its strongest January in eleven years, followed by a large dip in February but rebounded again in March. Alessandro talks about the factors that are contributing towards the fluctuations in the Capesize market and gives his outlook on the future.

Supramax & Ultramax: 11:27–17:22

The Supramax market is seeing decade highs at the moment, which has been great news for us as we manage the largest Supramax pool on the market, the Supramax RSA with over 80 vessels and 22 members. Andrea and Graziano talk in depth on the factors that are impacting the market and where they see it going.

Panamax: 17:22–18:40

Panamaxes are also seeing decade high earnings and at times Panamax rates have overtaken the Capesizes. Graziano gives his thoughts on why this has happened and where he sees the market going.

All in all our panel was very positive on the current outlook in their sectors, in contrast to last year at the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic. Their time is extremely valuable so we thank them for donating some of it to be part of this podcast.
